ROADSIDE BOUQUETS -- WHERE THE WILDFLOWERS ARE. Two friends. One a botanist. The other a consultant with a flexible schedule and an interest in wildflowers and flower arranging. We collect and preserve specimens of flowering plants. We find them in vacant lots, roadside ditches, culverts, swamps, woods, hillsides and fields. Along the way we explore the small towns of America. And arrange some flowers to brighten the truck interior or leave behind to say thanks.

Manifold Destiny
Back in the 80's someone (I'll get the who later) wrote a book called Manifold Destiny. It was all about how to cook food on the manifold of your car's engine while you are driving. I tucked that in the back of my brain thinking someday that would be fun. Today was the day. I wrapped two ears of corn in heavy duty foil. I think car engines have changed alot so we weren't sure where to put them so this is what we tried. I ate an ear after a while. It was hot and sweet, but not really cooked. My technique needs refinement.
